On Sunday 5th July I will be donning my trainers and best pink t-shirt and joining thousands of other women on the Knavesmire to run the Race for Life in York.
Running does not come naturally to me and, although I regularly attend the gym, this is a challenge that definitely pushes me out of my comfort zone. However it is all for a good cause, we all know people who have suffered from cancer. Happily, thanks to medical advancements, more and more of them are people who have recovered from cancer, so I want to add my support and sponsorship money to Cancer Research.
I am really pleased that my daughter is going to join me on the day. It will be a fantastic way for her to get experience of what people can achieve when they work together. We know it will be an inspiring day and we are really looking forward to a sense of achievement in completing the 5km run/jog/walk together.
Put in that context, I know it will be so worth while doing something a bit different.
